Welcome to my blog! My name is Psylocke Gaffud Antonio. I am
15 years, 2 months, 14 hours, 41 minutes old (whew!) and I have a great mom, a cool dad, and a cute sister. I learned HTML & JavaScript when I was 7 years old and have been hard coding stuff ever since. I'm now building my PHP skills by helping my parents develop MAJ, the software that powers this blog. Oops, click here if you are looking for sites about Elisabeth "Betsy" Braddock AKA Psylocke, the X-Men's "Asian by way of Britain" telepath whom I was named after. Otherwise, enjoy! I never really had the time to rethink about all my experiences during my ten months in my junior section. That's until now.
The word Cana is simple, neat, and easy to write on quiz papers. I liked the word. However, I used to dislike that section. "Used to" refers to 12 months ago. It was May last year when I found out that most of my closest friends were put under Gethsemane. Therefore, Cana wasn't my cup of tea. Back then I would've been able to call all of my classmates by name, but that's about it. I didn't speak to them as I did to my friends. Actually, most of the conversations enclosed in that four-cornered classroom were mere small talk. Like me, my classmates' friends were in the other sections.
Looking back, it was quite funny walking into that classroom for the very first time.
'Twas the first day of the school year. I wasn't expecting much enthusiasm from myself as I strolled down the hallway. Then, I found myself in front of the classroom. My classroom. I entered it and...surprise! Nobody was inside! So, where were all those missing classmates? They were either in Gethsemane or Galilee chatting with their friends there.
Well, I'll cut to the chase. Despite all my old pessimistic views on Cana, I've grown to like it as if I never hated it before. Diligent, responsible, and still filled to the brim with fun. Cana, for short.
I wonder what my section would be this coming school year... |

And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

It's my 15th birthday today. I celebrated it with some of my friends at Teriyaki Boy. I will post the pics here soon.
By the way, thanks to Tita Rays for the cellphone! |

Surprise surprise! Saturday, Mar 21, 2009, 10:00 PM
I received a lot of text messages from my friends while I was at Phoenix's graduation. They informed me that our year level won in the debate this morning. Also, they congratulated me for being chosen as Best Speaker and Best Debater!
Well, the entry title says it all. It was such a surprise for me, especially when I recalled the turn of events that made me a participant in the contest.
I would also like to congratulate my friends: Maget, Lava, and Claire, for winning in the Trio Raps (TRAPS) with their interpretation of "Bagsakan". Kudos from your one and only looooooooving manager. Hahaha! |

10th SULONG Convention Saturday, Mar 21, 2009, 5:00 PM
Today ends the 10th SULONG Convention in our school. One of the Competitions for Excellence (CFEs) is a debate regarding the school rule wherein bringing of gadgets to school is not allowed.
I was asked by my batchmate Steph to join the said contest because my section, Cana, could not find any other representative. According to the rules, a year level needs three representatives coming from the three different sections in it. The situation presented to me by Steph meant that the juniors will lose by default.
I wouldn't have been able to join because I was a facilitator of the convention. Earlier rules state that organizers are not allowed to join in any of the competitions. However, due to lack of debaters, the rule was disregarded. Hence, I was allowed to join.
Due to the short notice, I wasn't able to prepare my speech for the debate! So, I ended up writing it onstage while my turn wasn't up yet. Thankfully, I finished writing down my whip speech quickly.
The results of the debate will be announced during the formal closing ceremonies tonight. |
